Is Real Estate still the best investment???

Real estate has long been considered a smart investment. Many people, including me, the owner of this website, believe in the "buy & hold" real estate investing philosophy. There are many other types of investing. Some of the more popular ones are:

* Stocks, bonds, mutual funds

* Memorabilia (baseball cards, comic books, etc)

* Cryptocurrency

QUESTION: Is real estate still the best, smartest long-term investment strategy? What are your thoughts?
