Project Summary This project is located on the northern boundary of the Texas City, on the west side of FM-755. TxDOT is planning to build a bypass of U. S. Highway 83 North of the existing city, which will cross FM-755 just south of the entrance to this project and skirt in and out of the project along the south side. This by pass will divert 35,000+ cars a day driving on 83 in both directions daily to this project. The City is bounded by the river to the south, the wild life refuge to the east and blocked to the west by an adjacent City. This leaves only the north for expansion and growth. A large Creek on the side of the north side of the existing city creates a natural barrier for adjacent growth to the existing urban area. The west side of the city along FM-3167 is in a flood plane making it much more difficult and costly for extensive commercial and industrial development.

They are forced to drive nearly 50 miles away, spending their time and gas as well as their money somewhere else.
